This policy explains how the publisher of Well Pump Handbook ("we", "us") handles information on this website. We keep it short and specific to what the site actually does today. Use of the site is also governed by our terms of use.

Summary

You can read the whole site without giving us any personal information.
We don't currently use analytics or advertising cookies.
If you use our contact form, we receive what you type so we can reply.
Our hosting provider processes technical data (such as IP addresses) to deliver and protect the site.
If we add advertising or analytics, we'll update this policy before they go live.

Information we collect

Contact form

When you submit the contact form, we receive your name, email address, topic, the page you mention and your message. Form submissions are handled by our hosting provider, Netlify, and stored in our Netlify account. We use them only to read and answer your message and to correct our guides. We keep them for as long as needed to handle your request and then delete them, typically within 12 months.

Hosting and server logs

This site is hosted by Netlify, Inc. Like any web host, Netlify processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request in order to deliver pages, keep the service secure and prevent abuse. See Netlify's privacy policy for details.

Cookies and local storage

We don't set cookies for tracking or advertising at this time. Our calculators run entirely in your browser; the numbers you enter are not sent to us.

Advertising (planned)

We plan to show ads through Google AdSense. This section describes what will change when that happens; until then it doesn't apply.

Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on those visits.
You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google's Ads Settings, and learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services in Google's own policies.
Visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland will be asked for consent through a Google-certified consent management platform before personalized ads are shown, as Google requires.^[1]

We don't sell your personal information and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only with service providers that run the site for us (currently Netlify) and when required by law.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information you sent through the contact form by contacting us. Depending on where you live — including several U.S. states — you may have additional rights under local privacy laws; we'll honor requests as those laws require.

Children

This site is written for adult homeowners and isn't directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top.
